I’ve always loved food - both eating it and making it. At times, maybe a little too much, considering the weight I’ve gained and lost over the years. But through it all, cooking and baking have fascinated me since childhood - the way simple ingredients can come together to create something delicious, with endless possibilities of flavours.

My passion for cooking really developed at university, along with a growing appreciation for Nigella Lawson. Around the same time, I fell in love with Ladurée’s beautiful pastries, thanks to the cinematic masterpiece Marie Antoinette. After trying my fair share of macarons and éclairs, I was inspired to roll up my sleeves and try my hand at mastering patisserie. Another film that encouraged me to push my cooking skills further was Julie & Julia, which sparked my interest in more ambitious recipes and techniques.

Beyond just making food, I’ve found that being in the kitchen helps me relax and clear my head - it’s my mental escape, where the act of creating something delicious becomes a form of self-care.

Of course, I’ve had my ups and downs with food. I’ve dieted, lost weight, and eventually found a balance. Along the way, I’ve learned that no food is inherently "bad" - it’s all about enjoying what you love in moderation. My motto? Eat joyfully, but mindfully.

The recipes I share are simply the foods I love. They come from me experimenting, adapting, and challenging myself to create something new rather than just following a set recipe. I cook and bake what appeals to me and what I know will taste great. Hopefully, my recipes do the same for you!
